Can’t make it to see a counsellor because of circumstances? Skype sessions from your computer might work for you. (I also do phone sessions.) It’s easy to set up, it’s free to use, and it takes less time out of your day because you don’t have to travel, or even take off your ugg boots. If you live in a remote area, it gives you more choice, and privacy.
I have good processes in place for dealing with techy issues, payment is on-line, and we work together to make it work for you. I have been using skype for sessions for about two years and clients report they find it a great alternative.
I offer skype all over Australia, and international skype sessions are just as easy (except for working out time zones/payments etc).
In my experience, relationship counselling on skype works well if there are no distractions in the space (children need to be asleep). It is best if you can meet with me face to face at least once before the skype relationship counselling begins, but it is not mandatory.
I do not recommend skype for children or adolescents. It is not suitable for individuals or couples who are dealing with anger management.
Contact me today and make a time to meet on-line.
Clinical Supervision works really well on skype. Some supervisees who live out of area use skype to access supervision on a particular issue, or because they like my relational approach to the work. Also, skype cuts down travel costs, and you have more time to see clients. I use skype for my own supervision sometimes, because it is convenient and effective.
